after your death
I experienced for the first time
as a poet
the inadequacy
of words

Some feelings are too deep for mere words. I completely identify with this, Paul. So beautifully put, dear friend.

Paul your Tanka paints deep emotions - my dad passed away in May - silence unlocks the door of beautiful memories. i enjoyed your sharing.

Hi David, thanks for dropping by and sharing your own haiku.
Yes silence has a wonderful way of unlocking doors and opening up new avenues.

One of the reasons I enjoy short-form poetry is that they allow so much space/silence within for the poet/reader to explore in their own time.

Liked this, Paul :)

its so straightforwardly put that it conveys the feelings quite well,

I can identify so much with this - three years on, I still find the words inadequate.

Hi Devika & Dave, thank you for your time and comments, it is always good to hear when a poem has spoken.
